Want To Start A Pickup Location Far Away?

We'd Love Your Help!

Pickups far away from the farm, where we only offer UPS home delivery would allow you (and everyone in your area) to get our food at more affordable prices.

It will be about 10% less compared to UPS delivery (and even more for milk!). There will likely be a small $10 delivery fee and a $30 minimum order (final terms would be worked out based on your distance from the farm).

How To Start A Far Away Pickup Location

Give Us The Info & Let's Iron Out The Details

Let us know the address and all pertinent info about your location (don't worry - we'll ask questions if anything is missing). Then, if all looks good, we'll create a PENDING location on our site for you (and us) to share with local likeminded farm food eaters.

Customers Place Orders & Meet the Group Minimum

Each group will need a minimum of $3,000 in group orders for their first pickup. Then, it will need a minimum of $2,000 every other week to keep it open. We'll be sure to communicate with you and the group members if there's any issues.

We Start Your Pickup Location!

Once the minimum is met, we will plan the first pickup for 2-4 weeks later. We'll communicate with you and customers about it. After the first pickup, we'll be on a reliable and set schedule, with an order deadline and pickup day every other week.

The Details

Must Haves

  1. Central Location. People likely won't drive an hour to pick up in a rural location. The most successful pickups will be within a 30 minute drive of a city.
  2. Easily Accessible. Your location should be close to a major highway, with enough space for a large truck to deliver to you. No dirt roads or dead end streets, please.
  3. Ability to Facilitate Pickup. You don't need to be there the entire time for pickup. But we expect that you'll be there when the order is delivered. And, we expect that you'll be there after the pickup window closes to see if there's any food left behind. You can also organize volunteers/employees to do this, too.
  4. Ability to Communicate with the Farm. We may need to coordinate delivery with you. We also may need you to check if there's a mistake with an order. You'll be our main point person!

Nice to Haves

  1. Cold storage. Refrigeration at 34F to keep orders cold once they arrive. This also means we can have a flexible pickup window.
  2. Loading Dock. This makes delivering a bunch of orders to you so much easier.

Group Leader Perks

  • Store Credit. If you provide refrigeration, we'll gift you 5% store credit of the group's order. If you don't provide refrigeration, we'll gift you 2%. So, let's say you get 2% credit and the group orders $2,000 collectively, you'd get $40 off your next order.
  • You basically have home delivery. You don't need to go anywhere to pickup. It's like having home delivery but for a much better price.
  • Feel good. You're helping give people access to the real foods they need, and at a more affordable price! Building this type of community is honestly priceless.

Common Questions

How can I promote my group?

Once all the details are in order, we'd be happy to send you free food so you can host a tasting for your group. You get to choose the foods you think folks near you will like!

Will there be an order minimum?

Most likely, yes. Why? It's not worth it for us to pack a single gallon of milk or block of cheese in a box. We'll likely have a small order minimum, around $30, that's required to place an order.

Will there be a delivery fee?

Yes, a small one. The delivery fee will probably be around $10, with free delivery on larger orders over $175.

Will I place an order on behalf of the group?

Nope. Everyone will place individual orders on our site.

Will I need to sort the orders once they arrive?

Nope. We will pack everyone's orders in separate boxes with their names on it. It will be super easy for everyone to find their food.

Will I need to communicate with people about the pickup time or any issues they might have with their orders?

Nope. We will do ALL customer service.

What happens if someone doesn't pick up?

You will let us know, and we'll communicate with the customer. If they cannot get their order within a certain timeframe, it's yours! You can use it or give it to someone who can.

What if I need to close my pickup location?

No worries. You are not contractually bound in any way. But, we do ask for a heads up, if possible. We will reach out to the group and see if we can move the pickup somewhere nearby instead of closing it altogether.
