To make whipped bone marrow, you’ll need at least 2-3 pounds of marrow bones.
  • Heat oven to 425F. Place marrow bones, marrow side-up, on a baking sheet. Roast for 25 minutes or until much of the fat has rendered out and marrow is pulling away from the sides.
  • Remove from the oven. After the bones have cooled enough to touch, scoop the marrow out and into a bowl. Also, pour all fat from your baking sheet and into the bowl. Place it in the refrigerator.
  • Once the marrow is cold (the fat should firm up), use a mixer with a whisk attachment to whip until the bone marrow is white and fluffy.
  • Whipped marrow lasts 3 weeks in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer.

As the seasons allow, our cows are raised in the open pasture or field. They are 100% grass-fed and finished, which means they only eat their natural diet of grasses and what they forage on pasture. In the colder months, they have hay and free choice organic nutrients in the barn.

Our cows are NEVER supplemented with grain feed. Our goal is to raise the healthiest and happiest animals possible!

What breed are your cows?
Our beef cows are Black Angus.

What age can I give my baby marrow bones?
You can generally start around 6 months when you start introducing solids.

How long is the beef aged?
Our beef is dry aged (or hung) for 10 days.

What part of the cow do the marrow bones come from?
They come from the beef femur.

What are the benefits of eating bone marrow?
Basically, bone marrow's packed with good stuff like fats (including omega-3s), iron, selenium, zinc, and a bunch of vitamins (A, B12, E, and K). All this goodness helps with growth, healthy blood, your immune system, eyesight, skin, blood clotting, and a lot more.

Do your cows get mRNA vaccines?
Nope! At Miller's, it's a hard no for mRNA vaccines. None of our animals have or will get them. While we're on the topic, none of our farmers vaccinate their animals at all!
