Beef Liver

-

Nature’s natural vitamin source! Our cow liver is from our 100% grass-fed, 100% pasture raised cows. These livers not only offer great taste but are extremely nutrient-dense and are rich in iron, protein, and vitamins A and B12.

The beef liver should last up to a year in the freezer. You can slow thaw in the fridge or quick thaw in a bowl of cold water. Once thawed, it will last 1-2 days in the fridge.

Our favorite way to make liver is by soaking it in our milk or kefir (so it can soak up even MORE nutrients) for 30-60 minutes before cooking. Doing so can help reduce the metallic “iron” taste after cooking.

Liver and onions is the way to go!
  • Slice liver into pieces then sautĂ© in your favorite cooking fat in a frying pan on the stove.
  • Remove and set aside.
  • SautĂ© sliced onions in the same pan.
  • Remove and set aside.
  • Add a bit more of your favorite cooking fat. Heat up. Add some flour, salt, and pepper. Stir in milk or cream to make a gravy.
  • Place the liver on a really beautiful plate (this is important – make it look important and appetizing for skeptical family members). Pour the gravy mixture over the liver.

As the seasons allow, our cows are raised in the open pasture or field. They are 100% grass-fed and finished, which means they only eat their natural diet of grasses and what they forage on pasture. In the colder months, they have hay and free choice organic nutrients in the barn.

Our cows are NEVER supplemented with grain feed. Our goal is to raise the healthiest and happiest animals possible!
+
What breed are your cows?
Our beef cows are Black Angus.

How long is the beef aged?
Our beef is dry aged (or hung) for about 10 days. But… the organs are harvested immediately, so they’re not aged at all!

What are the nutritional benefits of eating liver?
Liver is high in Iron, Protein, Vitamin A, Copper, Selenium, Vitamins B12, B3, B5, and Folate.

Do your cows get mRNA vaccines?
Nope! At Miller's, it's a hard no for mRNA vaccines. None of our animals have or will get them. While we're on the topic, none of our farmers vaccinate their animals at all!

The beef liver is packaged in HDPE plastic, which is the most environmentally stable of all plastics. It does not contain BPA, phthalates, heavy metals, harmful fumes, or allergens. But all plastic has the potential to leach chemicals.
