Lard is the original cooking fat!

It is what out ancestors cooked with in days before the wide variety of cooking oils we use now.

This pork fat comes from around the kidney and loin of the pig. 

This lard is not rendered.

If desired it can be rendered to be spreadable at room temperature.

Pork leaf lard is considered to be the highest grade of lard fat.

Great for flaky pie crusts or high temperature frying.

Lard lasts a really long time. It can be kept at room temperature for 4-6 months, in the fridge for up to a year, and indefinitely in the freezer.

At Miller's Biodiversity Farm our pigs live in their natural habitat - the woods. Our pig's root, dig and forage for countless acorns and bugs. 

Our pigs have free access to wholesome and nutritious food. 

In addition to the food they find solo, we feed the pigs lots of skim milk along with their regular feed. 

The feed we provide our pigs with is a specially formulated blend of corn, peas, ground oats, fish meal, seashell flour, alfalfa meal, wheat middlings, and a nutri-balancer which has kelp, probiotics, vitamins, and minerals that they are free to feed on as they wish.
