Corn & Soy Free

You eat eggs everyday, so why are you settling for anything less than the best? These are organic, truly pastured, corn & soy free eggs. We don't add any colorant to the feed, so yolk color will vary. They have a 4:1 omega 6/3 ratio and low PUFAs, too.

Every carton comes with a sell by date. The eggs should last at least 6 weeks past that date.

Creamy yellow yolks and sturdy whites make these eggs the pinnacle of kitchen staples. Our truly pastured eggs have buttery and bright notes that will enhance everything. Try scrambled eggs cooked in cream, or sunny side up eggs with sausage. Make egg salad for a sandwich or deviled eggs. Thicken up your pudding or custard or ice cream with the yolks, and use the whites to make a yummy angel food cake or merengue. Or use them for baking, whether a quiche or your next birthday cake!

The chickens are fed GMO-free, corn-free, and soy-free feed. The feed contains a specially formulated blend of of oats, rolled wheat, peas, alfalfa hay leaves, barley, fishmeal, sesame meal, raw liquid goat whey, vitamins, minerals, and probiotics.
+
We do NOT add any colorant to the feed (even natural ones like marigold and paprika). This means that the yolk color will vary depending on what the hens are foraging for or are being fed. They will typically have darker orange yolks in the warmer months and lighter yellow yolks in the cooler months, but this varies.

We love having this indicator of what the hens are eating. It helps our farmers constantly improve their pastures and practices. We tested our eggs, and there is no significant nutritional different between eggs with different yolk colors.
+
We tested our eggs. They have a 4:1 omega 6/3 ratio. They are low PUFA (with about 750mg per 100 grams). And they have a high vitamin content, particularly with B vitamins.
+
Are the laying hens vaccinated?
Nope. They're not vaccinated at all.

Are the eggs washed? What are they washed in?
Our eggs are washed in water and only water.

Why? In Europe, vaccines for chickens are mandatory but egg washing is not. That's why European eggs are NOT found in the refrigerated section of supermarkets. In the United States, vaccines are optional but egg washing is mandatory. Since washing removes the protective bloom on the egg (making the shells permeable and more susceptible to spoiling), that's why American eggs are refrigerated. Many farms use soaps or chemicals to wash their eggs. We use only water.
+
Our egg farmers all buy the same exact feed and do not grow it themselves. About 20% of the feed is bought from local, traceable farms. The other 80% is bought in as organic grains. Vitamins and minerals are added to the feed. Some vitamins are synthetic.
