Chicken Liver Pate

Chicken Liver Pate
Delicate, meaty, creamy and delicious with butter, sage and rum extract that adds woody and sweet notes. If you're not a big fan of liver give this recipe a try! You'll be surprised how the flavor changes when prepared with the right ingredients.

  1. Heat butter over medium high heat.
  2. Add diced shallots and cook until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Add liver, seasonings and sage. 
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes turning the livers. 
  5. Add rum extract and 1/4 cup water and turn heat to high.
  6. Cook until liquid is almost evaporated.
  7. Let cool slightly.
  8. Add livers and 2 tsp of honey to a food processor or blender until smooth. 
  9. Taste and add more seasonings if needed. 
  10. Transfer to a bowl or wide mouth mason jar.
  11. Enjoy with bread, crackers, veggies or enjoy in a sandwich.

Optional - top with 1 Tbsp melted butter and crispy sage leaves.
