Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective, environmentally sensitive, and common sense approach to pest management. It's most often used by naturally minded fruit farmers. IPM programs use detailed info about the life cycles of pests (and their interaction with the environment). Then, they spray for pests accordingly, using the least amount of spraying possible. The sprays IPM programs use may be "certified for organic" or not. But over, most IPM programs result in less spraying than with certified organic practices and the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.
